BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF

During the studies, every student master most of the skills essential for their future careers and professions. They are called hard skills. However, hard skills for certain jobs and positions with a lot of competitors are sometimes not enough. What differentiates candidates and new professionals are soft skills. Soft skills are every-day skills: communication, presentation skills, time management, organizational skills, teamwork and group dynamics and such. Because of their importance, CPSA organizes a series of soft skills trainings and workshops in the project called Best version of yourself. The project covers workshops and trainings with 12 different topics that aim to develop certain skills and knowledge among the students. The topics are:

  • Motivation

  • Time Management and Organizational skills

  • Stress Management

  • Project Management

  • Self Management

  • Presentation skills

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • Networking

  • Teamwork and Gruop Dynamics

  • Leadership

  • Curriculum Vitae, Motivational Letters and Job Interviews

  • Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word and Excel

The goal of this project is to share awareness and importance of soft skills in education, professional and private environment and everyday life. Furthermore, it aims to motivate students to grow and pursue lifelong learning, hence the name of the project - to become the best version of yourself, i.e. to be the best you can be through work, learning and constant dvelopment.

EPSA (European Pharmaceutical Students' Association) nurtures soft skills through their EPSA Training Project since 2009. Pharmacy curricula in European universities vary a lot from one university to another. According to the Bologna Process, European higher education should “prepare students for their future careers and for life as active citizens in democratic societies, and support their personal development”. This includes soft skills. Unfortunately this is not the case in all European countries. According to students, the quality and quantity of soft skills education does not often meet the needs of modern work life, where people skills and lifelong learning are essential. Various student organizations have responded to the demand for this kind of education by providing their own training programs.

All European EPSA member states that have soft skills trainers and trainer candidates are involved in the EPSA Training Project. From time to time EPSA organizes EPSA Training on Tour project that sends the trainers, literally, on tour to countries that have no or very few trainers so they introduce soft skills and Training Project to those students.

If you are interested in becoming an EPSA Trainer, EPSA organizes Training New Trainers project (abbreviated TNT) every year. 8 selected students from Europe come together to a hosting country for one week and learn to become trainers form older and more experienced trainers.you can find out more at EPSA.
